Property Description
THE KROHNE SPRING HOUSE
In 1889 Charles O. Krohne emigrated from Sweden and found work in Livingston Montana as a machinist for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He built the sandstone block spring house over the well on the rear of the small clapboard house which is said to be the only remaining structure of its type in Livingston. The spring house provided the family with refrigeration. In 2005 the spring house was acquired by local craftsman/builder Joe Franck. From 2006-2011 Mr. Franck completely remodeled the home down to the studs and built an addition.
